The helical ribbon mixer is a horizontal mixing equipment. Inside its cylinder, there are double-layer reverse helical ribbons. The outer helical ribbon pushes the materials from both ends to the center, while the inner helical ribbon pushes the materials from the center to both ends. Through this axial convection circulation combined with the radial shearing force and the gravitational throwing effect, it can quickly mix powder, granules or low-viscosity materials evenly. It features high mixing efficiency, wide application range, compact structure and easy cleaning, as well as low energy consumption. It is widely used in the material mixing processes of industries such as chemical engineering, food, medicine and building materials.

Working principle

The main body of the helical ribbon mixer is a horizontal U-shaped cylinder, with a feeding port at the top and a discharging port at the bottom. Double-layer reverse helical ribbons are installed on the main shaft inside the cylinder and are driven to rotate by a motor through a reducer. The two ends of the cylinder are equipped with sealed bearings and dust covers. Some models are provided with observation ports.
The materials are fed into the top feeding port. After startup, the inner and outer screw belts rotate at a low speed in opposite directions. The outer screw belt pushes the materials on the cylinder wall from both ends to the center, while the inner screw belt pushes the materials in the center to both ends, forming axial convection. At the same time, the shearing force causes the materials to roll radially and be thrown and mixed under the action of gravity. After the set time is reached, the uniform material is discharged from the bottom discharge port.

At the same time, it has a compact structure and is easy to maintain. After shutdown, residual materials can be quickly cleaned up, making it suitable for batch production.
